A new diptych by Diane Slaight, based on the view from the ramp above Toronto City Hall. Each acrylic painting on canvas measures 16" round. “ It was fun and challenging to paint these bustling figures from a very different perspective. Working on the round canvases was a unique experience also.” Diane Slaight

"Painting people is what I do. Working from photos I have taken from here and abroad. Out of many images I might find one or two that tweak my interest. It may be that I see a story, ( or imagine one ), admire the pose or possibly the interaction between the subjects that makes me want to capture them in acrylic paint on canvas. This year my emphasis is on experimenting with new colour pallets and simplifying and abstracting my composition. Hope you enjoy!"
